My First International Trip…

...Welcome to San Bruno, California, USA...
I started on Aug 28th from Bangalore-Dubai-Washington DC-San Bruno! 30hrs of flight, I was totally exhausted and jet lagged for couple of days. I thought Bangalore International Airport was huge, only to realize that Dubai Airport was much bigger (& extremely beautiful) and Washington’s even more huge!!

The San Bruno City’s weather is very pleasant (although the first 2 days after I landed were pretty cold & windy). It is a very peaceful city with less people on roads & no traffic what so ever, it’s such a relief for a change! Everything here works differently rather VERY SYSTEMATICALLY, the cars/traffic rules (pedestrians are treated like god!), electric plug points, cooking stove, carpeted floors everywhere, and huge supermarkets with so many variety of products!! It’s too very organized and surprisingly every single person follows it! It can get kinda annoying for a person who is from a place where nobody cares about anything:)!

Food is pretty good here, I get to eat rice at the cafeteria everyday so I am happy.

Hoping to see few more cities and find out more about this country during my stay… So stay tuned :)

Hanging Onnn...

Just frustrated in life…
Nothing seems to be working out, even my promotion and hike have failed to keep my spirits high…
I mean I just need something or somebody to turn things around...
As they say ‘Life is Like an hourglass… Eventually everything hits the bottom and all you have to do is WAIT until someone comes along and turns it around’
I am tired of waiting too!!
Hellooo, is anybody out there? Could you please turn my hourglass please!!

Last Saturday Date…

With hardly few of my friends left in Bangalore, I end up spending most of my weekends at home.
On one eventful Saturday I had a plan…
It had been months since we had seen each other!
The phone call that Saturday morning woke me up from my lazy slumber…
Yaaaaaawn, I woke up , got ready quickly and drove to the mall to watch the movie that we had planned…
Although the movie review was not good, we wanted to watch it as it was a sequel to the movie that we had watched and enjoyed earlier!
And turns out we enjoyed the sequel too, the movie was all the way fun. Damn the reviews we thought!!
After the movie I was treated to delicious home made food and custard as I refused to eat out!
Then we talked and talked and talked, played badminton & with Schatz [a labrador].
Then a nice lil drive to the small ice cream parlor around the corner before we wrapped up for the day…
Indeed it was a lovely day after a long long time!!

I am just not loving it…

Real World -> Most of us have forgotten that it even exists!
From our mode of communication to playing games, everything seem to have gone totally virtual.
True, Internet and cell phones have brought the world closer and it’s a really wonderful thing to have happened. But it must be used for beneficial purposes instead of getting hooked on to it, don’t you think so?

I mean all these social networking sites are nothing but ‘nonsense’, at least that is what I personally feel…
Not to deny, I myself had got hooked on to it and would take umpteen number of quizzes, beautify my home page, browse friends profiles, albums, etc etc for hours together. Please get out, meet your friends and play some real games whenever possible :).

Now coming to cell phones, Messaging-Browsing-Gossiping 24/7. People will survive without food and water but can’t do without their mobile!
For instance, You are just about to pee and your cell phone starts ringing… You ‘ll pee in your pants but have to attend the call!
I mean what kind of world are we living in?

Get out, Get real and Give precedence to YOU over anything.

'What else' syndrome?

Yes I am down with the ‘what else’ syndrome these days…

Nothing new, nothing happening…

Day after day... weekend after weekend…

Wake up... eat... work… sleep… watch tv... eat... work… sleep... yaaaawn

Wait for something different to happen…

Dream of taking a long vacation and never return back…

I Have run out of topics to talk about or discuss…

In fact I am not interested in talking!!! :-/

Totally serene, calm and peaceful…
Away from the city’s never ending hustle and bustle…
The cattle, goat, hens and the humble villagers that make for the crazy traffic!
It is such a relief, to see trees, lakes and fields as a substitute for flyovers, buildings and malls!
The tender coconut water , nati koli saru* and ragi mudde** (slurrrp slurrrp) instead of the cold coffee and burgers…
Indeed it is such a delight to get back to roots…

Evolution...

Today, I was flipping through the pages of newspaper and ended up reading articles on our education system, economy, business, career growth and opportunities.

And then I started wondering, how did THIS happen???
'ME reading (even looking at) such articles!!!'

All I can say is, I have grown from a 'Silly Young Girl' into a 'Sensible Mature Lady'

They say “A known devil, is better than an unknown angel” and since i had not known any devil, my family’s & my HUNT for the unknown angel began…
At first it was all a joke to me. I was like ohh, so I officially get to date guys ;)…??? Uhuuuuu. But trust me, it did not take much time for the ‘Uhuuuuu’ to turn into ‘Boo hoooo’. In my case, it was always ‘family’ to ‘family’ meetings after the initial round of information sharing( like photo, D.O.B, kula/gotra/nakshathra, height, education, occupation, dad, mom, bro, number of hands/legs etc etc :P:P). Then the Live meeting & SCAN ME sessions, then comes the Question and Answers session…

Boy:[Smiles/Blushes] So howz work?
Me: he he… Good, as usual… he he…
Boy: So where did you study? {school/college details please}
Me: [Is he planning to hire me??, Smile] abcxyz … qwertyuiop...asdfghj…
Boy: Oh NICE, abcxyz is a good institute I have heard…
Boy:
xyz?? Me: abc… Boy: pqr?? Me: abc
Boy: So what are your future plans??
Me: [To become a ‘sanyasin’ after meeting you!] Obviously to get married & settle down & may be have few kids & work towards the well being of my family & society.:P ;)
And in the meanwhile the families are watching/listening with uncommon attention like their all time favorite classic flick is being played!

Then at last the ‘ok tata bye bye’ session. Ahh how relieved I am now! It’s time to vent out my reaction…

Nooo.. he is bald… how short!!! did u check the length of his trousers??… is he the same guy in the photo?? is he pregnant?? Will you even lift your head dude?? has he waxed?? do people even keep such names in this century?? Trust me all these minute things no longer seem so MINULSCULE! Hmm if not for all these then, family-family not matching… not happening… etc etc…

And, the hunt continues… Me getting ready, the coffee/tea session, snack session, complete body scan, Q&A session, etc etc. It is so MADDENING/ANNOYING/FRUSTRATING!

I must have shot at least half a dozen ‘half dead’ by now ! Yet to make my(our) ‘Perfect kill’ :D …

PS: I so want to turn into a Vegetarian{sanyasin :) }… All I desire is PEACE PEACE & more PEACE!
