Training Experience At Infy Campus Mysore(Put in a nutshell)...
For the first time I packed my bags to leave home for good. And for the first time I could also sense my mom's insecure feelings about sending me off, and deep down inside I was scared too! But it was time I stepped out of my nest. So I bid adieu and left home.
Dad dropped me off to the campus where my training was suppose to commence. The campus was huge and beautiful. It was a residential campus, I went to the reception collected my room keys and dumped my luggage in the room(lovely it was). I dint have enough time to have a good look at the room since I was running late for the induction program. I left with another gal whom I had met at the entrance; we both were together the rest of the day(and the rest of the journey too, one of my very best friend now) exploring the campus.
We had classes from 9AM to 5PM on weekdays and they were very particular about the dress code, timings and discipline out there. Gals had to wear western formals or Indian ethnic wear. And for a gal like me who has always lived on a pair of jeans, tee, sneaker and a backpack it was pretty tough in the beginning.Although the nice part of it was I got to shop for new clothes:)!
Lemme describe the campus a Lil bit:
The campus was just amazing,it was fun time after 6 (at least for me it was).
My room : Had AC with remote,TV with cable,Beautiful furniture,Lovely bathroom,24hrs hot water,Iron box,Electric kettle,Mosquito coils,Fans, etc etc.You just had to get up, take bath, leave for work.By the time you are back the room is clean and sparkling, and even the bed is done for you!!That was about the room.
We had 3 food courts, the food was average,we had cycles to move around the beautiful campus full of greenery. The training rooms, seminar halls were nice.
Now let me tell you about the most important thing,

Now let me tell you about the most important thing,
THE EMPLOYEE CARE CENTER(ECC): This building had Basket ball court, Big swimming pool, Snooker & Pool area, Gym, Aerobics, Yoga, Squash court, Supermarket, Laundromat , Badminton courts, Tennis courts, BOWLING arena,Beauty parlour,Book store and what not!
As time passed by I made some really good friends and we were a gang of almost 20 people. Having fun, Freaking out, Partying every weekend, Playing basket ball till 2 AM in the night, Chatting at our so called ‘Adda's’ till late in the night, Pizza parties in our rooms, Those cycle rides, Gym and Salsa classes, Rolling and laughing like mad people on the cricket ground, Those tensions about clearing exams, Hanging out at gazebo, Burning the mid night oil and studying at the nth moment, Flicking project modules, The thick lassi and delicious parathas we would eat at the famous 'Jai matha dhaba’ just outside the campus , Those impulsive Mangalore and Manipal trips, Bunking classes, Getting caught for dozing in the middle of the class and what else i have NOT done ;). I was just my crazy self having so much fun and being so carefree, not having to worry about reporting to mum and dad at the end of the day.
I still couldn't believe I had started earning('Getting my first salary', has to be one of the happiest moments in my life !). The only tension I had was clearing my exams, most of the modules I had somehow managed to clear with ease and good grades surprisingly! Except for my stream compre (it was like the final paper), for which i had to slog a Lil bit.
I had become quiet a spoilt kid and a spent thrift too (Ended up borrowing money from dad even though i was earning myself!). But since I was away from home, dad and mum were all the more affectionate(come what may) and I would get treated like a ‘princess’ each time i visited them :D.
Since I had managed to clear all my exams, I was thrown out of the campus eventually :( and posted to Bangalore. It was quiet an emotional moment to part with friends who always stuck by ME 24/7. Miss u all,but the most I miss is my room (Room No: 173) , it was MY SPACE!
Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed penning it down!
